The British electro act Chicane will give a stomping performance at the Ministry of Sound New Year’s Eve Festival, which is proudly sponsored by mobile communications provider, 8.ta.
The event will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and features four arenas and top international artists, with the highlight being Chicane.
Commonly referred to as “godfather of the Ibiza album”, Nick Bracegirdie, the mastermind behind Chicane, has produced some of world’s killer dance floor music, including Offshore, Halcyon, Don’t Give Up, Stoned in Love, Saltwater, Middledistancerunner.
Chicane has collaborated with the likes of Sir Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, Natasha Bedingfield, Adam Young, as well as Cher, and the list keeps growing. Chicane’s latest single, Going Deep, features Aggi Dukes, one of London’s famous rappers.
Ministry of Sound Promoter, Lloyd Cornwall says: “There are few dance artists that can genuinely claim ‘godfather’ status within the global dance movement. Chicane regularly headlines massive festivals around the world dropping their smash hits to adoring fans.”
Stephen Blewett, Marketing Executive at 8.ta explains that the Chicane set is more than just a DJ set, it is a full on live production incorporating visuals, mind blowing sound and technical wizardry.
“8.ta and Ministry of Sound have arranged with the artist that the midnight tune as they grace the stage will be the incredible Disco Citizen (DC) extended live remix of ‘Offshore’. We can think of no bigger anthem to bring in the New Year,” adds Blewett.
